Karl-Anthony Towns and Karlito
I predict Towns will be one of the most dominate big men in the NBA in 5 years. Yes, Okafor will likely be the #1 overall draft pick, but Town’s ceiling is much higher in my opinion. The 7 footer is not only extremely skilled in the paint, he can also step out and hit the outside shot. Further, he is a great passer and is committed to defense. I haven’t seen an overall skill-set comparable to his since Tim Duncan.
In addition to his tremendous skill-set, Towns has something neither Okafor or Duncan has, a friend named Karlito.
What can you tell us about “Karlito?”
“He is such a great kid, he doesn’t want to talk back
to you so he turns his head to the side and talks to that little man on
his shoulder. After he started doing it I said, ‘Who are you talking
to?’ I can’t remember which of the coaches gave him the nickname, said
he’s talking to Karlito. He’s a great kid.”
