IU’s (lack of) Resurrection
Do you remember Christian Watford? Indiana fans do. On December 10, 2011, Watford hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to give Indiana the win. IU was back! At least, they thought so. So much so that Susie Gregory created an oil painting called “The Resurrection” and sells reprints for $275.
All was well and good. Indiana was finally back on top of the basketball world. That is, until Kentucky curb stomped them in the NCAA Tournament that same season to the tune of a 102-90 victory in a game that was never really in doubt.
In honor of that IU victory, I put countless seconds into recreating my own version of the events from that fateful December 10th…
